TELECOMMUNICATIONS OUTSIDE PLANT DESIGN

With over 15 years experience working in the field of Telecommunication Outside Plant Utility Design.

I have extensive knowledge in cable designation, pair/count make-up, splicing, terminals, Cross

Connects, Repeaters, Hubs and Splitters, MDU's and RSU's. I have worked with Aerial cable, Buried

cables, Underground and Fiber Optic (FTTP) Cable in all design phases, Asbuilt, Pre-post and Final

post. I was responsible for reading and interpreting outside plant records while working from

Engineers notes and sketches turning them into legible digital design files. In addition, I have worked

with Cell Tower placement and Large Road move projects. Companies I have worked for in the past

include: Verizon, Bell South, Sprint, AT&T, PacBell, Windstream and Frontier. Programs used in the

design include: Microstation V8i, AutoCad, IDDS, QNAS, ICGS, WPG, ASBUILT, AAIS, VBUILD, DMRS,

TIRKS.

CIVIL ROADWAY DESIGN

Having work on many projects to include: Road moves, Widening, Resurfacing, to the very large scale

projects using the latest design software programs specifically Bentley Microstation V8i, AutoCad

“2013”. I’m able to produce Plan and Profile drawings, Horizontal and Vertical Alignments, Cross

Sectional drawings, Maintenance of Traffic, create permits for city, county and state, Typical and

Utility Adjustments drawings. I have a keen ability to pay close attention to details and interact with

engineers and other staff members.

WORK EXPERIENCE

November 2010 – Present

Drafting Supervisor

Company: KCI Technologies

Responsibilities include: Working with a team of engineers, providing drafting services placing outside

plant utilities. I was responsible for creating Aerial, Buried, Underground and Fiber Optic (FTTP)

working drawings, work-orders, work-prints and detailed Cell Tower drawings. I also, worked on some

large projects that included road moves, FDOT: Permits, Plan/Profile sheets, Cross Sectioning.

Working with a team of engineers providing drafting services placing geographical data for Verizon

Telecom. Creating working drawings UPD files, work-orders, work-prints, underground conduit and

detailed drawings, FTTP - Fiber Optic drawings, Go Digital, Road moves using IDDS software. Along

with FDOT Permitting: Levels A, B, C, Plan/Profile sheets and Maintenance of Traffic drawings. Position

also, included going out into field and taking field notes such as, measuring distances from existing

utilities. Scheduling with survey department for needed utility locates. Working with right of ways,

and center line. Training new drafters how to use all programs and read engineering documents and

redlines.

geographical data for Verizon Telecom. Creating working drawings UPD files, work-orders,

Road moves using IDDS software. Position also, included going out into field and taking field notes

such as, measuring distances from existing utilities, right of ways, and center line. Training new

drafters how to draw work prints in Verizon systems.
